
Police in Nashville, Tennessee, have arrested murder fugitive James Marques Smith, 21. Smith was wanted for the fatal shooting of Nicholas Spivey.
Undercover Detectives assigned to a specialized unit with the Nashville Police Department observed Smith and a second male who has been identified as Shy’Marie’On Link inside a vehicle on Main Street.
With the assistance of the Metro Nashville Police Department Aviation Unit, detectives followed the vehicle until it parked on 17th Avenue North.
As detectives approached the vehicle, both Smith and Link got out and ran. Both tossed guns in the process.
The firearm Smith discarded was stolen out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the firearm Link threw was modified with a switch that made the gun fully automatic.
Smith is being held without bond on the criminal homicide charge.
At the time of his arrest, Link was wanted on an outstanding auto theft warrant in Nashville, and felony warrants were issued in Sumner County.
