At approximately 11:57 p.m. Saturday night, officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to 3430 North Academy for a shooting incident.
Five people are confirmed dead and twenty-five people are confirmed injured. Victims were transported to UC Health Memorial and Penrose hospitals.
The suspect, who has been identified as 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich, was take into custody at approximately 12:02 a.m., two minutes after officers arrived on scene. Aldrich used a long rifle during the shooting.
